Living in The Present

The past is gone and the future has not yet arrived. Now is the only time life gives us that we can control. Now is when you can acknowledge the presence of your baby and affirm it by saying: “I know you are here and that makes me very happy”. Stopping for a moment is the first step to living in the present and acknowledging the presence of your baby is the second.

Only through loving are we able to identify and recognise the person we love. Your baby is aware of you, loves you, and recognises you. Consciously experience your pregnancy and nurture optimal, safe development for your baby.

There is increasing talk of strengthening the mother-child bond, as it has been scientifically proven to help prevent mental illness.

During pregnancy taking care of your emotions will help you feel better.

Even though you have been preparing throughout your pregnancy for a natural, non-medicalised birth, you may finally need an epidural or caesarean section.

I would like to reassure you that if you have established a good bond with your baby during pregnancy and if you strengthen your bond with your baby from now onwards, this kind of birth can be a positive experience.

Doctors act in the best interests of mother and child, and their priority is to ensure that mother and child are not at risk.

Nowadays parents are more aware how important prevention is for a baby’s good development, but don’t blame yourself if things don’t go as expected, for babies instinctively know they are your priority and are grateful for that.
